Walking Through Walls is Taking another Tour Around the Block

Well, I'm at it again with another tour for Walking Through Walls, but this time I'm not doing it on my own, I'm going with World of Ink Tours.

And, the tour begins TODAY!
You might be wondering why I'm having another virtual tour for Walking Through Walls, and the answer is two-fold:

1. I think my middle-grade fantasy adventure story, Walking Through Walls, is a great read for kids and want to give it another opportunity to attract new readers, and I'm also promoting my first book, Day's End Lullaby.

Day's End Lullaby is a soothing, lyrical, and rhyming children's bedtime picture book with the sheet music to the lullaby included in the back of the book. To learn more about Day's End Lullaby and read some great reviews, and even a singing video review, go to:
http://daysendlullaby.blogspot.com

Here's the link to one of the Day's End Lullaby singing video reviews:

To learn more about Walking Through Walls and read some great reviews, and check the pages on this site.

2. These books are great holiday gifts and wanted to share them with readers.

Walking Through Walls Off and Running

Boy, time goes so fast I just can't seem to keep up with it - it's the beginning of September and the winners of the book tour were announced on my writing site:

Walking Through Walls July Book Tour Winners
http://www.karencioffiwritingandmarketing.com/2011/08/walking-through-walls-july-book-tour.html

Now, I'm taking the steps needed to promote my middle-grade/young adult fantasy adventure, and part of that promotion will include one or two posts here explaining a couple of reasons why I chose to rewrite an ancient Chinese tale, and a couple of book marketing strategies I'm using and have plans of using in the upcoming months.

But for now, you can check out the reviews Walking Through Walls got (on the Reviews page here) and if you know of a child who loves fantasy and adventure stories and/or a child who is a reluctant reader, stop by Amazon or Barnes & Noble and pick up a copy. Along with a wonderfully engaging story it offers a child a couple of very subtle and valuable life lessons. This book really has a lot to offer a child in elementary school and up, even adults will find it an enjoyable and engaging read. Just click on the links:

I'll actually be putting an e-book together that will offer lots of book marketing tips and strategies - I'll keep you posted.

Final note and request: When you go to get your copy of Walking Through Walls, please be sure to click on the "Like" buttons and "Share" buttons.

That's about it for now. As soon as I get the time I'll post a couple of articles about this book's creation and process. I love when other authors share their experiences, the processes that work and those that don't work, so I'll be happy to share mine. It's all about paying-it-forward.

Walking Through Walls YouTube Video

Walking Through Walls is on its final lap.

Thanks to Aidana WillowRaven there is now a YouTube video of the book that you can check out at:

http://youtu.be/90aJO5qHHWc

And, it's scheduled release date is July 1st.

Here's a brief synopsis of this children's fantasy chapter book:

Walking Through Walls is based on an ancient Chinese tale and set in 16th century China. Twelve year old Wang  dreams of becoming rich, powerful and feared.  He studies the legend of the Eternals, a group of mystics who are known and feared for their amazing magical feats.  When he is sure they are real, he journeys to their home in the Loa Mountain and begins an apprenticeship with the Master Eternal.

Unfortunately, Wang does not have the patience or moral fiber for the long and arduous undertaking.  Before he leaves his apprenticeship, he gets the Master to teach him one magic formula – walking through walls.

Walking Through Walls ARCs

The publishing process for Walking Through Walls is moving steadily along. I received the ARCs (Advanced Reading Copies) that I've sent out to selected reviewers, such as the New York Times, Publisher's Weekly, Kirkus, Children's Book Review, Booklist, School Library Journal, and others.

I still have to send the ARCs to my local papers and several teachers and vice-principals. But, I've at least started.

I've also found a couple of review sites that are free and offer unbiased reviews, such as Feather Quill, Stories for Children, and BookWorld.

Walking Through Walls is scheduled for release sometime in June; I'll keep this site posted with updates.

I did get my first review and I'll post it later this week or next week.

Walking Through Walls - A MG Fantasy Book

Welcome to my new site. It's all about Walking Through Walls, my soon to be released children's MG fantasy book.

Walking Through Walls is based on an ancient Chinese tale and set in 16th century China.  It is about a 12-year-old boy named Wang who dreams of becoming rich, powerful and feared.

As soon as Wang gets home he devises a plan using his newly acquired magic formula, contrary to the Master’s warning that it will only work for good deeds.

As the illustrations become available, I'll be posting them here, along with excerpts and other content.

I'll also let you know when and where to get a copy for your son, nephew, grandson, neighbor, cousin, you get the idea. It'd be a great 'anytime' gift to encourage children to read. And, the chapter illustrations are a great tool for reluctant readers.

4RV Publishing has it scheduled to come out next month!

Stay tuned!

You can also check out Day's End Lullaby, a children's bedtime picture book. It's a wonderful and soothing bedtime story based on an original lullaby. Read about it and listen to a video review at:
