Walking Through Walls Predators and Editors Winner

I'm thrilled to announce that Walking Through Walls won 1st Place in the January 2012 Predators and Editors Readers Poll, Children's Novel category.

4RV Publishing, the book's publisher, did exceptionally well in the contest; a number of books placed in the Top 10. And, 4RV placed 6th in the Publisher's category.

Thank you to everyone who voted for Walking Through Walls!

A synopsis:

Walking Through Walls is a middle-grade fantasy adventure based on an ancient Chinese tale and set in 16th century China.

Wang longs to be rich…and powerful. At twelve-years-old, he already knows more about the Eternals and their way of life than many of the adults in his village. Learning about these mystics takes his thoughts away from the possibility of working in the wheat fields all his life, like his father. Wang has far grander goals.

Certain the Eternals are real, not just a myth, Wang journeys to their temple and begins an apprenticeship with the Eternal Master. There he enters a world of magic where not everything is as it seems, and where he learns the magic formula to ‘walking through walls.’

Walking Through Walls is Taking another Tour Around the Block

Well, I'm at it again with another tour for Walking Through Walls, but this time I'm not doing it on my own, I'm going with World of Ink Tours.

And, the tour begins TODAY!
You might be wondering why I'm having another virtual tour for Walking Through Walls, and the answer is two-fold:

1. I think my middle-grade fantasy adventure story, Walking Through Walls, is a great read for kids and want to give it another opportunity to attract new readers, and I'm also promoting my first book, Day's End Lullaby.

Day's End Lullaby is a soothing, lyrical, and rhyming children's bedtime picture book with the sheet music to the lullaby included in the back of the book. To learn more about Day's End Lullaby and read some great reviews, and even a singing video review, go to:
http://daysendlullaby.blogspot.com

Here's the link to one of the Day's End Lullaby singing video reviews:

Walking Through Walls Off and Running

Boy, time goes so fast I just can't seem to keep up with it - it's the beginning of September and the winners of the book tour were announced on my writing site:

Walking Through Walls July Book Tour Winners
http://www.karencioffiwritingandmarketing.com/2011/08/walking-through-walls-july-book-tour.html

Now, I'm taking the steps needed to promote my middle-grade/young adult fantasy adventure, and part of that promotion will include one or two posts here explaining a couple of reasons why I chose to rewrite an ancient Chinese tale, and a couple of book marketing strategies I'm using and have plans of using in the upcoming months.

But for now, you can check out the reviews Walking Through Walls got (on the Reviews page here) and if you know of a child who loves fantasy and adventure stories and/or a child who is a reluctant reader, stop by Amazon or Barnes & Noble and pick up a copy. Along with a wonderfully engaging story it offers a child a couple of very subtle and valuable life lessons. This book really has a lot to offer a child in elementary school and up, even adults will find it an enjoyable and engaging read. Just click on the links:

I'll actually be putting an e-book together that will offer lots of book marketing tips and strategies - I'll keep you posted.

Final note and request: When you go to get your copy of Walking Through Walls, please be sure to click on the "Like" buttons and "Share" buttons.

That's about it for now. As soon as I get the time I'll post a couple of articles about this book's creation and process. I love when other authors share their experiences, the processes that work and those that don't work, so I'll be happy to share mine. It's all about paying-it-forward.
